How to sign a PDF without printing it

The old way to sign a document was to print it, sign with a pen, then scan it back in, slow, and it needs a printer and scanner. With this tool you skip all of that: open the PDF, add your signature digitally, and download the signed file in under a minute.

Why signing in your browser is more private

Most 'free online PDF signer' websites make you upload your document to their servers, where it's processed and stored, a real concern for contracts, IDs, and anything confidential. This tool is different: it uses your browser's own capabilities (pdf-lib and the Canvas API) to embed the signature locally.

That means your PDF and your signature never travel over the internet. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and there's no account to create. When you close the tab, nothing remains.

Are electronic signatures legal?

For most everyday agreements, electronic signatures are legally valid in many jurisdictions, for example under the ESIGN Act and UETA in the United States, and the eIDAS regulation in the European Union. A typed or drawn signature that shows clear intent to sign is widely accepted for things like consent forms, letters and standard business agreements.

That said, certain documents (wills, some property transfers, and specific regulated forms) may require witnessed or notarised signatures, or a 'qualified' electronic signature. For high-stakes or regulated documents, confirm the legal requirements in your country or use a dedicated qualified e-signature provider.

Is signing my PDF here private and safe?

Yes. Unlike most online sign tools, this one processes your PDF entirely in your browser using pdf-lib, your document and signature are never uploaded to a server, so nothing leaves your device.

Can I draw and type my signature?

Both. You can draw your signature with a mouse or touchscreen for a handwritten look, or type your name and have it rendered in a signature-style font.
